This is a list of acronyms, abbreviations, and definitions used throughout the software and this help document.
- Appointment - Inbound or Receiver
- BOL - Bill of Lading, sometimes synonymous with Release, a Release on Owner material side can print a BOL or just a release document
- COGS - Cost of Goods Sold
- CPU - Customer Pick-Up
- CUSTOMER material - for SSCS software, the definition of customer material is material that you do not own and are processing or storing that material. see OWNER material.
- FG - Finished Goods, this has to do with Tag Type, see RAW below
- LIFT TAG - An inventory tag with 1 or more Slit Tags (gummy labels)
- LVL - Levelling, this is a type of setup that takes a coil and cuts it into sheets
- Master - 2 different meanings. In weight differentiation of a big coil(master) and little(pup) coil. In Processing, the master is the parent coil(tag) of many children (tags that were produced off ).
- Gage - see below.
- Gauge - see below.
- GL - General Ledger
- OPPO - Outside Processing Purchase, this is somewhat of a setup that is done outside your facility.
- OWNER material - for SSCS software, the definition of owner material is material that you own.
- Parent - see Master.
- PO - Purchase Order
- PRC - Processing, this is a type of PO.
- PUP - this is defined as a small coil.
- RAW - this has to do with Tag Type, which general means a master coil(big coil), but technically any coil can be considered a "raw" coil and used as a master to produce more child coils...and vice versa
- SETUP - aka WO (Work Order)
- SO - Sales Order
- WIP - Work In Process, this has to do with Tag Type
- WO - Work Order, this is an internal job you are going to do. See Outside Processing PO
Is it Gage or Gauge?
Both spellings are accepted throughout the industry. Gage seems to be the most widely used.
